FOR ALL EMERGENCIES - FIRE- POLICE & AMBULANCE DIAL 911
Police
Police Chief Chuck Orth and the Larned Police Department are responsible for law enforcement in the City. Dispatchers are on duty 24 hours a day and the department may be reached for administrative matters at 285-8545. The Police Department is located at 419 Broadway.
Municipal Court
Municipal Court is scheduled for docket cases the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month at 1:30 p.m. Tickets may be disposed of at City Hall with the Court Clerk.
Fire & Rescue
Fire protection is provided by the Larned Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department which consists of 17 members assisted by the Larned Rescue Squad of 5 members. The Larned Fire Department has an insurance ISO Rating of a 5 for property in the City limits which is the best a volunteer department can receive and is even better than some paid departments. This influences the insurance premium for property insurance coverage and saves our citizens a significant amount of money.
Emergency Medical Service
The City of Larned operates the Larned Emergency Medical Service. Currently the City has three ambulances, four full-time employees and six volunteers. For administrative calls, Ms. Shearrer can be reached at her office, located at 123 W. 9th, at 285-8541.
LARNED'S WARNING SYSTEM - SIREN SIGNALS
The severe weather/tornado warning is a 3 minute hi-low or "warble" siren. (The 30 second steady siren is the "all clear" signal.) Tune to KANS-KGTR 1510 AM radio station or local TV channel for further information.
Every Friday, weather permitting, the City tests the sirens at 12:00 noon.
