The Chamber of Commerce provides a variety of services for members. They include:

  • COFFEE HOURS: The Chamber sponsors and promotes Coffee Hours each Thursday morning, 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. for members holding at least one full membership. The Coffee Hours are well attended and their purpose is to expose the business service or institution to public appreciation. Coffee Hours are held every month except July and August.

  • HOT LINE SYSTEM: The Hot Line System is a phone call network to warn Chamber members of worthless checks circulating in the trade region. The Hot Line System is also a method by which the Chamber is able to contact the membership for "short notice" messages.

  • RIBBON CUTTING SERVICES: Done by the Chamber Ambassadors when a new business opens or an economic expansion by a member's business.

  • LIFESTYLE PROGRAMS: These include retail promotions, tourism promotions, Antique Show, Santa Fe Trail Days, Chamber golf tournament, Casino night, Moonlight Madness, Christmas Parade, Country Store, Kiddies Day and Beef, Pork, and Turkey Day.

  • NEWSLETTER: The Chamber produces a monthly newsletter for all members and interested parties updating members of happenings and events in the area.

  • RECRUITING TOOLS: The Chamber has developed some recruiting tools for members to use to recruit employees at all levels. One is a lifestyle video that lets a prospective newcomer know what life is like in this region. The other is a lifestyle booklet that is a thorough introduction of the area. The video and book are both titled "Larned is Your Kinda' Town." Copies are filed with the Kansas Department of Commerce. The office also has a Pawnee County brochure with information about Larned, Rozel, Burdett and Garfield. The brochure was put together by the Pawnee County Economic Development Commission which shares the same office as the Chamber. An Accommodation and Hospitality Guide is also published by the office. The Chamber is also one of the sponsors of the Kansas State Fair Booth.

  • NEW BUSINESS AND EXPANSION: The Chamber is a first contact for persons looking for buildings, ground or funding for new or expansion business set up. A wide variety of resources are available to credit worthy entrepreneurs who have good business skills. This is done with the cooperation of Pawnee County Economic Development Commission.

  • BUSINESS AND CAREER SEMINARS: The Chamber hosts several seminars per year led by Small Business Development Center specialists, local Community College's or professionals in their field. With a broader membership, the Chamber will develop continuing education events of service to members.

  • JOB SERVICE: The Chamber serves as a dissemination and collection point for approved employers. A current listing of Larned State Hospital jobs is posted weekly.

  • MEETING ROOM FACILITY: The Jordaan Community Club Rooms are scheduled for use through the Chamber office.

  • PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICE: A large variety of public information brochures are disseminated in the Chamber office. These range from the Ministerial Association pamphlet to tourist brochures, to telephone books and state and city maps. Community profiles of Larned, Rozel, Burdett and Garfield are also available at the office. Statistics and data on Pawnee County and our communities are also available. The Chamber office answers thousands of inquiries about the region by mail and by phone.

  • RETAIL SERVICES: In addition to work done by the Retail Committee, the Chamber assists in the coordination of retail events with the local media and informs retailers of promotional opportunities as they arise.

  • RENTAL HOUSE LISTINGS: The Chamber office provides a booklet that lists rental housing available in Larned, Rozel, Burdett, Garfield and Pawnee Rock. The service is provided free of charge to anyone wishing to list their rental.
